JET’s Symposium on Economics Teaching is a different kind of conference put on by a different kind of journal.

The Journal of Economics Teaching is heading to Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana this summer for JET SET 2026!

Whether you’re looking for fresh classroom ideas, new ways to engage students, or just a few days surrounded by people who care about teaching economics as much as you do, JET SET is the conference for you. It’s open to educators at every level, including K–12 teachers, community college instructors, and university faculty.

Here’s what JET SET 2026 looks like:

• Wednesday, July 29 (Opening Reception): Kick things off with an evening reception to meet fellow attendees and get settled in.

• Thursday, July 30 (Full Day of Sessions): A full day of concurrent sessions, workshops, and sponsored activities focused on innovative teaching methods.

• Friday, July 31 (Morning Sessions & Wrap-Up): Close out the conference at noon with a final round of sessions in the morning. Feel free to stick around for our Friday afternoon group outing for those who aren’t ready to say goodbye just yet.

Say hello to our keynote speakers

We’re thrilled to welcome two outstanding voices in economics education this summer at JET SET 2026:

🎙️ Wailin Wong is the co-host of NPR’s Planet Money, bringing storytelling and economics together for millions of listeners. She’ll kick off our Wednesday evening reception.

🎓 Doug McKee is a Senior Lecturer at Cornell University and a leading voice in economics pedagogy and innovative course design. He’ll lead us on Thursday morning before concurrent sessions begin.

Registration details

Registration for JET SET 2026 is $200 and applies to all attendees and participants.
