The Journal of Economics Teaching is excited to share that the 2024 Symposium will be held in Blacksburg, Virginia! The journal is seeking abstracts for presentations and organized sessions on innovative pedagogy for both K-12 and college educators. Those submissions are due by Wednesday, May 1st! An early decision will be provided for any submissions received before April 1st.
What sets JET SET apart?
Our conference, like our journal, is open to everyone. We are the only conference of its kind to actively foster networking amongst all passionate econ educators, whether they are college professors or K-12 teachers.
Learning outcomes take center stage. Each session is designed with your students’ learning in mind and you’ll leave with practical information you can apply in your classroom immediately.
We teach you to fish! Ok, not really, but we want to give you the tools to publish your great teaching innovations and increase your impact! JET’s awesome editors will lead a results-oriented workshop for those who want to learn what it takes to get their classroom innovations ready for publication in JET.
We’ll have fun! We’ve sprinkled in interesting events throughout the conference, including a fun 5k run on Saturday morning! Maybe we’ll even find a way to teach you how to fish! We’ve already come up with ways to make the shuttle ride from the airport more interesting. Sign up and see for yourself!
Blacksburg is nestled in the heart of Southwest Virginia, which means it’s a great chance to get away for a few days. The regional airport is served by major airport hubs on the East Coast and even includes train and bus services from DC. Our conference will coincide with a regional arts and music festival, so plan to spend some extra time in Blacksburg that weekend.
