Our Keynote Speakers Are Ready to JET SET! Are You?
JET’s Symposium on Economics Teaching is a different kind of conference put on by a different kind of journal.

Many of you have already started your summer breaks, so that means we’re just a few months away from JET SET 2025. Today, we are announcing our keynote speakers for this summer’s symposium! But before we do that, this is a friendly reminder to start making your plans to join us this summer at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
The symposium is open to educators from all levels, from K-12 teachers to community colleges and university professors. Every summer, we host engaging workshops to empower you with innovative teaching methods to enhance your economics courses. Whether you’re presenting or just attending, we’d love to have you as part of our community of passionate economics educators!
Are you still interested in sharing your insights and expertise? You can submit abstracts for a presentation or a complete session until May 27th. There are only a few slots left in the program to showcase your innovative approaches to teaching economics.
Keynote Speakers
While you get your abstracts polished, let us introduce our two extraordinary speakers who will shape the symposium with their powerful insights:
Wednesday, July 30—Opening Reception:
Join us at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis for the opening reception, where FRED economics data champion Diego Mendez-Carbajo will kick off our conference. He will share insights on how the Research Information Services division at the bank evaluates the success of initiatives and builds products that scale to serve the world.
Thursday, July 31—Sessions Kick-Off:
We’ll kick off our concurrent sessions with a keynote by Mahmoud Harding, Instructional Design Director at Data Science 4 Everyone—a University of Chicago initiative focused on expanding K–12 data science education. He’ll explore how data science is transforming both K–12 and college classrooms, and what that means for the future of economics education.
Don't miss out on the opportunity to join JET SET 2025! Registration is open for a few more weeks, but here are the key details you need to know today:
The registration fee for JET SET 2025 is $150 and applies to all symposium attendees and participants.
We value the involvement of students and K-12 instructors in advancing economics education. As a token of appreciation, we offer a 50% discount on registration for either group. Students can use the promo code "student" and K-12 instructors can use the promo code "K12" during registration. Community college educators can use the code “cc” as well.
Your registration includes admission to the opening reception at the St. Louis Fed, access to all breaks and sessions, and participation in sponsored activities during the conference. We ensure you'll be well-fed, connected, and engaged throughout the symposium.
We have secured a special conference rate for JET SET attendees at The Pennywell and Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch, located across the street from our conference location.
